Pecan Crusted Chicken Tenders Air Fryer Recipe

A tasty take on a classic are these simple chicken tenders with a pecan crust! These moist, soft, and flavorful chicken tenders are enhanced by the toasted nuts in the breading.

 Ingredients:

  1. 2 pounds boneless chicken tenderloins *see note
  2. 2 teaspoons kosher salt, divided
  3. 2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper, divided
  4. 1 1/2 cup pecan halves
  5. 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  6. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  8. 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  9. 1 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  10. 1/2 cup buttermilk
  11. 2 eggs
  12. Vegetable or Canola oil to fry

Instructions:

Step:No:01

After patting the chicken strips dry, season them with a teaspoon each of salt and pepper. Put aside.

Step:No:02

Pulse the pecans in a food processor or blender until they are coarsely chopped.

Step:No:03

Move the pecans to a large, shallow basin and mix in the panko bread crumbs, flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic powder, and parsley. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

Step:No:04

Transfer the eggs and buttermilk to a separate shallow bowl. Mix by whisking.

Step:No:05

After dipping each chicken piece into the buttermilk mixture, press it into the pecan mixture to coat it. Move to a platter.

Step:No:06

Place paper towels on a baking sheet and set it aside.

Step:No:07

Oil should be added to a big skillet until it is 1/4 inch deep. When a wooden spoon handle is dipped into the oil, it will instantly shimmer or burst into bubbles when the oil hits 350°F on medium heat. Fry the chicken in batches for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until browned. While you fried the remaining chicken, transfer to the prepared baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm. Keep an eye on the oil's heat because it has the potential to fry the chicken's outside too rapidly.
